Liberty Square Community Guidelines

Our mission is to create a space which empowers Locals subscribers to form thriving business relationships as we push back against cancel culture; a safe harbor for commercial connections in the storm of woke ideology. 


Best practices for merchants

  1. Introduce yourself! Tell us which communities you subscribe to, what product(s) or service(s) you provide, and a bit about the intellectual journey that led you to value individual liberty and free speech.
  2. In each marketing post, include a link to your website as well as any contact information you feel comfortable divulging, as well as how we can find you on other social media platforms.
  3. Use hashtags so consumers searching for a particular good or service can find your post more easily. E.g., if you do leatherwork, you could include #goods #leatherwork #handcrafted.
  4. Set your post to be visible to people outside of the community if you want the general public to be able to see what you have to offer.
  5. Include references, samples, and pictures of your work.
  6. Mention whether the goods/services you provide are only available locally or if they can be shipped/provided remotely. If the good/service you offer is only available locally, include the name of your state.
  7. If you accept cryptocurrencies, state this in your post as well as which ones.
  8. If you feel so inclined, please use your posts to share something encouraging, insightful, or funny, or to reach out for support when you need it.
  9. Speak freely about issues that affect your small business. These are not discussed enough among business owners. This can go beyond just woke culture to include other types of limitations within other business communities. We may be able to collaborate to solve these problems.


Best practices for consumers

  1. With freedom comes responsibility. Caveat emptor. Ask for references, testimonials, and/or samples of previous work.
  2. Use the search feature to find posts advertising the goods/services you are seeking.
  3. If you want to be able to interact with the merchant on this forum, you will need to become a subscriber. However, the merchant should include contact information so you can communicate off platform if this is your preference.
  4. Subscribing members can submit “in search of” posts. You never know what hidden potential is waiting to be discovered in the ranks of Locals subscribers.
  5. If you receive great service from someone in this community, please consider posting a testimonial.


Best practices for everyone

  1. Don’t be a jerk. Constructive criticism is a beautiful thing. Language which tears others down is not.
  2. Nothing which violates US law may be advertised.
  3. Follow Locals’ terms of use and community guidelines.

Please respect the following community guidelines to maintain an enjoyable environment:

  • Keep conversation respectful, without personal attacks
  • Don’t blow up other members’ feeds. If someone isn’t responding to you, let it be
  • No pornography
  • Keep out behavior that could be seen as trolling/spamming
  • Relax, be yourself, and enjoy
